The seeded players largely made a clean sweep at this year’s last Elite Grand Prix north of Copenhagen. Both Jeppe Søby Hansen and Kathrine Vang Rasmussen took two victories at Sunday’s finals, while Jakob Houe, as the only unseeded player, could take the top step of the podium.
The mixed doubles category opened the ball on Sunday afternoon at this round’s EGP finals. 3/4 seed Jeppe Søby Hansen/Kathrine Vang Rasmussen toured together with unseeded Jakob Clausen Jessen/Sophia Lemming. At 1.45 p.m., the two singles finals were served. In women’s singles, tournament favorite and 1st seed Irina Amalie Andersen faced Anne Fuglsang. In the first set, Andersen lived up to her favorite dignity to a great extent, and did not leave much to chance, in the set she won by a whopping 21-8. In the second set, Fuglsang fought back nicely, but was unable to push the match into a third and decisive set, and Irina Amalie Andersen could call herself the winner of Lillerød EGP 2024 with the numbers 21-17 in the second set.

In today’s second singles final, the two unseeded Højbjerg talents Mads Emil Monke and Jakob Houe faced each other. It was the latter who could draw the longest straw and call himself the winner of the men’s singles category at the last Elite Grand Prix of the year. Houe won over his clubmate with the numbers: 21-10, 21-16.
Jeppe Søby Hansen entered the men’s doubles final with a good amount of confidence in his luggage after winning the mixed doubles final a few hours before. Now he and partner Calvin Lundsgaard had to follow up the previous victory with another great final performance, and he managed to do that. In a thriller in three sets against the home court favorites Jonas Jæger/Nicolai Worm Carlsen from Lillerød, the margins were on the side of the count couple, who with the numbers 22-24, 21-16, 21-18 won the victory and took the top step of the prize podium. Jeppe Søby Hansen/Calvin Lundsgaard were seeded two at the entrance to the tournament.
