Champions League: FC Barcelona sanctions its fans and closes a stand before welcoming Brest

FC Barcelona is depriving itself of its own supporters. The Catalan club made a surprising decision before the reception at Stade Brestois this Tuesday evening (9 p.m.) by choosing to close one of its stands to its supporters. “FC Barcelona informs that from today the Espai d’Animació (EDA) of the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc will be closed due to the non-compliance by the groups with the obligations they have contracted with the club,” indicates Barça in a press release.

Due to the actions of the supporters, fourteen disciplinary proceedings are underway against the club. “Given the content of the agreements accepted and signed between the club and the supporters groups, FC Barcelona, after several warnings, has begun the process of recovering the amount of sanctions imposed on the club for their behavior in the stands last season, behavior which generated up to fourteen disciplinary procedures for behavior contrary to the regulations in force in the supporters’ area, explains the press release. During this process, groups were given up to three different deadlines to comply with their obligations, the last of which expired at midnight last night with no results. »

According to the Sport media, FC Barcelona had requested payment from the four groups of supporters (Almogàvers, Front 532, Nostra Ensenya and Supporters Barça) of 21,000 euros corresponding to the sanctions imposed last season. The ultimatum set Monday at 11:59 p.m. was not respected by the groups. And the sanction was taken!
