The Spurs didn’t make many moves over the summer, but the franchise seems to have hit the mark with Chris Paul, as does Harrison Barnes. The latter has just received some very good news.
The season is still long and the outcome uncertain, but the Spurs have every intention of fighting for a place in the playoffs, and if possible without the play-in. The Texan franchise is convinced of having a roster cut out for such an objective, and that can be understood. With Victor Wembanyama, Devin Vassell, Chris Paul and rookie Stephon Castle, there are some great people.
The arrival of CP3 also does a lot of good for San Antonio. A leader always able to shine with a ball in his hands, while his experience makes a big difference behind the scenes. But he is not the only one in this case, since Harrison Barnes is also a nice surprise for the supporters.
Great reward for Spurs after their crazy week
If some were wondering about Barnes’ current level, they were quickly reassured by his last week of competition. With 22.3 points and 8.7 rebounds on average at 61% shooting, in addition to 3 victories in 3 games, the winger had a big series. He has also just been rewarded by the NBA.

Like every Monday in the league, the best player in each conference over the last week has been revealed. Giannis Antetokounmpo was acclaimed in the East, while Barnes took home the award in the West. Many people are surprised and yet, Spurs number 40 did not steal his victory when we see his performances.
There’s a lot of talk about CP3, but Barnes is definitely one of the best signings of the summer at this point, especially when you know the Kings sent a first-round draft pick as a gift to the Spurs for agreeing to sign the player. Journalist Matthew Tynan sums up the situation quite well on his X account.
@Matthew_Tynan : “Little reminder to say that the Spurs recovered Harrison Barnes and a first round of 2031 draft (swap) via the Kings for almost nothing. No matter how long he stays in San Antonio in the future, he’s everything the Spurs could have hoped for in the short term. Let it be him and Chris Paul. »
No doubt, the Spurs are smiling with the performances of Harrison Barnes. A nice move from the front office, who pocketed a first round bonus to get him back on the roster. One of the best moves of the summer.
