The Blue and Gold M15 A triumphs at home

A team from Rivière-du-Loup, the Bleu et Or M15 A, had a dream weekend as part of the most recent Piloup Neige M15 McDonald Tournament in Rivière-du-Loup. The local team won top honors in the competition in front of parents and friends this Sunday, November 24 at the Premier Tech Center.

The young Louperivois got their hands on the prestigious Piloup Neige Cup by defeating the Patriotes de Québec-Centre by a score of 6 to 3. After opening the score in the first period, the Bleu et Or players managed to take the lead in the second engagement. They then never looked back, even if the opponents offered a good performance. They also scored two power play goals.

Justin Berger (2 goals), William Ouellet (2 goals, 1 assist), Olivier Michaud (1 goal, 2 assists) and Aiden Shannon were the scorers for the locals. Esteban Soucy also collected two assists in the victory which went to goalkeeper Thomas Picard.

This great victory allowed the Bleu et Or M15 A to complete a perfect run in Rivière-du-Loup. The team finished its competition with five consecutive victories. A flawless one. On an individual level, Justin Berger and Olivier Michaud were the offensive leaders of the group – and top scorers of the tournament – ​​with 11 points each in just 5 games.

The winning team is made up of Aiden Shannon, Thomas Picard, Lucas Bernard, Elliot Bélanger, Charles St-Pierre, Ryan Soucy, Olivier Michaud, Jean-Philippe Rioux, Esteban Soucy, Justin Berger, William Ouellet and Raphaël Levesque.

The coaching staff is made up of manager Nathan Shannon, head coach Éric Levesque and assistant coaches Jonathan Michaud and Hugues St-Pierre.

Note that a second team from Rivière-du-Loup reached the final four of its category during this provincial tournament. The Bleu et Or M15 B also reached the semi-final of the competition. The team ultimately lost to the Senators, recording three wins and one loss in four games.
