Showdown in Gmunden – Judo Austria

The prestigious event of the year is getting closer and closer: four women’s and four men’s teams will crown the Bundesliga champions on Saturday, November 30th, at the Raiffeisen Sports Park in Gmunden (weigh-in: 1:00 p.m., semi-finals from: 2:00 p.m.: 30, final – women: 7:15 p.m., final – men: 8:15 p.m.). In the women’s category, the number one seeded UJZ Mühlviertel, which only lost to ESV Sanjindo Bischofshofen in the final last year due to being three points worse, is considered the favorite. In contrast to 2023, the Upper Austrians can compete with the entire team, i.e. with the fit-again Laura Summer (torn cruciate ligament/-78) and state champion Lisa Peherstorfer (-48). For the men, there will be a duel in the semi-finals between subscription champion Allianz Kukla Galaxy and the two-time runner-up UJZ Mühlviertel. The role of favorite goes to LZ Multikraft Wels, ranked number one for the first time. A number of top international stars will be seen in Gmunden – above all the Olympic medalists Ilia Sulamanidse (GEO, 2nd in Paris/-100, second in the world rankings – in action for LZ Multikraft Wels on Saturday), Denis Vieru (MDA /3. in Paris/-66, European champion 2023 – Allianz Kukla Galaxy) and the third place in the World Cup in 2021, 2023 Marcus Nyman (SWE/-90 – UJZ Mühlviertel).
