Sandro Cavaillé takes a new step towards the very high level of table tennis. The Istrian, regularly selected for training courses and international competitions with the French team, is already certain of winning a first world medal, in U15, for his first participation in this global youth event. He qualified in the semi-finals of the boys’ doubles, associated with Noah Vitel. A half which will be played this Wednesday.
Present in Helsingborg (Sweden) since Friday, the double French cadet champion and bronze medalist at the European Championships in the same category has given himself the means to perform well. He participated in the WTTs in Szombathely (Hungary, U15/U17) and Lignano (Italy, U17/U19).
In October, he finished in 7th place in the European Top 10. He also participated, as part of WTT in Montpellier, in the Youth Performance Course.
Pillar in Nationale 1 with Istres
Sandro Cavaillé is also one of the pillars of the Istres first team which plays in Nationale 1. “The club is doing well. We recorded an increase of 20% at the start of the school year, particularly with many young girls. With the cessation of the professional team, our project refocused on young people. Sandro is the driving force of a group made up of young people trained at the club like Hugo Lapina or Maxence Champauzas. We have strengthened our three teams which play in the National around Lucas Moland, employee of the club, with promising young people like Alexandre Bartz or Julen Ladoux Martinez.
