Blake Snell has agreed to a five-year, $182 million contract with the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, a person familiar with the matter said Tuesday.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal is contingent on a successful medical exam.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner announced the news himself by posting a photo of himself in a Dodgers uniform on social media. He wore the number 7.
The contract details were first reported by ESPN.
Snell will join a rotation that already includes Shohei Ohtani, but lost right-handers Jack Flaherty and Walker Buehler to the free agent market.
Snell became a free agent for the second year in a row when he ended his two-year, $62 million contract with the San Francisco Giants.
His only season with the Giants was marred by injuries. The 32-year-old was 5-3 with a 3.12 ERA in 20 starts.
