The two teams before the effort

Monday evening at Cosec… The week starts well for the Condom badminton club and its new team which hosts Eauze as part of the interclub tournaments and offers itself an encouraging victory. Receiving Eauze is always a pleasure and a challenge. Over the years, it is more friends than adversaries that the driving enthusiasts from Condom find themselves. The evening promises to be under the best auspices. The time has come to begin the eight matches of the tournament. While maintaining the good humor and fair play that befits any self-respecting badminton player, the competitors add a good and necessary dose of concentration. Because, although fun, badminton is above all a technical sport which requires good physical and intellectual abilities. From the first strokes of the racket, we can guess that the matches will be contested. Each player is invited to display their best level of play and the few blunders on both sides are possibly punctuated by rants without consequence in an atmosphere that is always serene. Likewise, it is natural and customary for any loser during a good phase of play to salute the skill and strategic relevance of the opponent. The meetings follow one another. Everyone wins or loses. The only obvious thing is that the evening’s verdict will only be known at the end of the last match. Condom is then in the lead with four victories while Eauze has three. If the latter win, the two teams will be decided by the number of sets or points won. However, this calculation will not be necessary since Condom takes the upper hand and ultimately wins by five victories to three. According to a well-established custom, the evening ends happily around a friendly drink. Élusates and Condomois are already looking forward to meeting again in 2025 for the return meeting.
