As part of its commitment to the development of basketball in Cotonou, the Renaissance basketball club (Rbbc) is organizing, on Sunday December 1, 2024, a training course for its supervisors. The event, which will be held at the Soweto Sports Centre, is part of a global strategy aimed at professionalizing coaching and providing optimal support for young players.
Placed under the theme “Training process for young people aged 6 to 14”, this educational session is aimed at main coaches, assistants and starting coaches. It reflects the club’s commitment to quality supervision and harmonious development of young talents. To enrich this course, two emblematic basketball figures will act as trainers. They are Pierre Tonon, Fiba Level II certified coach, recognized for his expertise and experience on international fields and Jean-Paul Rebatet, former renowned professional coach having managed prestigious teams such as Cholet, Villeurbanne and Paris. Former coach of several national teams (France, Central African Republic, Gabon, Morocco, Burkina Faso), he currently holds the position of manager of executive training at the French Basketball Federation (Ffbb). Their intervention promises to equip participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to meet the specific needs of young basketball players in the learning phase. This initiative is part of the ambitious vision of the Renaissance Basketball Club, which positions itself as a key player in the development of basketball in Cotonou and beyond. By investing in the continuing training of its supervisors, the club intends to raise the standards of sports teaching and guarantee a promising future for its teams. The course on December 1st constitutes further proof of Rbbc’s commitment to excellence. Through this type of activity, the club reaffirms its desire to be a catalyst for talent, while contributing to the influence of Beninese basketball on the national and international scene.
