Milwaukee, without Giannis Antetokounmpo injured in his knee, thanks to a super performance from Damian Lillard snatched the victory on the Miami floor 106-103.
Lillard scored 37 points (10 of 17 shooting and 8 of 13 from three-point range) and 12 passing. For Miami the best scorer was Jimmy Butler with 23 points.
Houston defeated Minnesota in overtime after coming close to defeat in regulation.
With 38 seconds left in the fourth period, a basket by Amen Thompson allowed Houston to get back to a tie 102-102.
Thompson himself gave the Rockets the lead early in the half. Alperen Sengun finished with a triple double (22 points, 10 rebounds and 11 passes), supported by 27 points, 11 passes and 8 rebounds from Fred VanVleet and 22 points from Dillon Brooks. Anthony Edwards’ 29 points weren’t enough for the Timberwolves. Victor Wembanyama scored 34 of the 128 points for San Antonio as they beat the Utah Jazz (128-115).
Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal shone in the Phoenix Suns’ victory at home against the Los Angeles Lakers (127-100).
Devin Booker (26 points and 10 passes) scored the Suns’ best score, Durant and Beal scored 23 points each. In the Lakers, Anthony Davis was the best scorer with 25 points and 15 rebounds, while LeBron James had 18 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds.
