EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTIAGO.- Dariel Del Rosario, from Salcedo, was stronger than Alexander Pérez from Santiago, conquering the highest category of the I National Invitational Classic of the Santiago Table Tennis Association (Asateme).
The competition, dedicated to former champion Olga Vila, was successfully held over the weekend on the roof of the Gregorio Urbano Gilbert Club (GUG), in 14 categories. It had the support of the Dominican Federation (Fedoteme) and the Vive por un Sueño Foundation.
Pedro García, from Dan Pedro de Macorís, and Omar Corona, from Santiago, shared the third step on the podium.
Other monarchs
Jochi Aquino was crowned in the Master division of 46 years and over, escorted by Anibal Olivares whom he surpassed in the finals, leaving Santiago’s Reynaldo Moronta and Ángel Cordero in third place.
The local Omar Corona also managed to be superior in Master 35-45, dominating the Mocano Odalis Gómez. Oliver Apolito, also representing Santiago, and Franz Villamán, from Santo Domingo, shared third position.
George González, from the District, appropriated the Fever category. He defeated Gustavo Vargas, also from the District, while Jonás Vila, Santiago and Carlos Cabral, from the capital.
