World Chess Championship: Gukesh equalizes | TIME ONLINE

The Indian Gukesh wins the third game of the World Chess Championship against Ding Liren. The world champion from China, playing with Black in a Queen’s Gambit, got into a variation he was unfamiliar with after his Indian challenger’s seventh move. Gukesh continued to put him under constant pressure. Ding spent a lot of time thinking, and an incorrect rook maneuver on move 17 made his defense more difficult. Gukesh stayed calm, used his extra time to think about it and found strong moves. On move 37, Ding exceeded his time limit in a lost position.

This means that Gukesh equalizes the title duel, it is now 1.5 to 1.5 in the 14-round World Chess Championship Singapore. There will be no play on Thursday, the fourth round begins on Friday at 10 a.m. German time.
