Last weekend, the Hemsbach badminton fans experienced exciting matches both at home and away. While the first team fought at home, the second team played two away games.
First home game of the 1st team against TV Heidelberg The game started with the 1st men’s doubles, in which S. Haas / H. Reinemuth played against A. Schröder / K. Schulte-Wieking. Despite a tough fight, they had to admit defeat 9:21, 18:21. In the women’s doubles, S. Fuhrmann / A. Stieler showed an impressive performance and defeated I. Schwenk / S. Lin 21:15, 21:13, which meant the equalizer. The second men’s doubles match without a fight gave SG Hemsbach a 2-1 lead. In the first men’s singles, M. Fischer fought bravely, but lost to A. Schröder 8:21, 16:21. A. Stieler competed against S. Lin in the women’s singles and unfortunately had to admit defeat 15:21, 15:21, which gave TV Heidelberg a 3-2 lead. The mixed doubles between H. Haas delivered a thrilling performance in the first men’s doubles and won 22:20, 17:21, 21:19. S. Fuhrmann / F. Stieler prevailed in the women’s doubles against F. Kikul / M. Leibert more clearly than it looks like 21:16 / 21:19. The 2nd men’s doubles with H. Reinemuth / N. Engelhardt was hard fought, but ended in favor of SG Hemsbach with 8:21, 21:19, 21:19. M. Fischer showed his fighting spirit again in the first men’s singles and defeated M. Grözinger in three sets with 17:21, 21:19, 21:13. Youth player F. Stieler triumphed in the women’s singles against F. Espe with 21:14 / 21:17. The mixed doubles between H. Reinemuth / S. Fuhrmann and H. Soltau / F. Kikul brought another point for Hemsbach with 21:16 / 21:17. In the 2nd men’s singles, S. Haas narrowly lost to F. Höft with 18:21 / 16:21. Finally, N. Engelhardt won the 3rd men’s singles without a fight because his opponent didn’t show up, so SG Hemsbach clearly won the game 7:1. SG Hemsbach II Reinforced by youth players B. Ackermann and J. Cischinsky on its first team matchday, SG Hemsbach met TSG Dossenheim IV. In the first men’s doubles, F. Dugimont and D. Bajic then took Hemsbach’s honorary point after an exciting three-set match against K. Stumpp with 21:17, 17:21, 21:19. Youth player J. Cischinsky offered a very strong running performance in the 3rd men’s singles against J. Scaria, but ultimately had to give way to his experienced opponent from Walldorf. Both Hemsbach teams showed full commitment and fighting spirit this weekend. Particularly noteworthy are the individual victories of F. Dugimont and D. Bajic as well as the strong performances of the first team in both home games. This ends the preliminary round for both teams. While Hemsbach 1 is currently in second place, the second in sixth place still has potential for improvement.
