The practice, born from the union of styles such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi, wrestling and judo, is characterized by the importance given to technique and strategy.
For the first time, ASD Bushido – Team Scardovelli is organizing the Gorizia Smash 2024 sporting event, a Grappling tournament on various levels of experience and weight. The response from the athletes, up to the age of 35, was enthusiastic: around a hundred participants are expected, coming from the Triveneto region, Slovenia and Croatia. There is a significant presence of young people: at least thirty members aged between 15 and 17. The event will be held on Sunday 1 December in the PalaBrumatti gym in Gorizia, in Piazzale Division Mantova 2. The competitions will start at 11am, preceded by weigh-ins and the referee briefing from 9.30am to 10.45am. Entrance for the public is free.
It will be an opportunity to promote this discipline and enhance the sporting spirit, technique and above all the educational values promulgated by the association. Grappling is a continually spreading practice, which stands out for its completeness and spectacularity, combining standing and ground fighting techniques. Born from the union of styles such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi, wrestling and judo, it is characterized by the importance given to technique and strategy, making it accessible and competitive at every level. Team Scardovelli is included in the national Federkombact circuit and is dedicated to teaching, as well as promoting grappling and MMA.
«With SMASH 2024 – stated the DT in the presentation of the event Fabrizio Scardovelli – our association aims to consolidate Gorizia’s role as a point of reference for combat sports at a local and international level. We invite enthusiasts, families and the curious to discover the emotion and values of this discipline. We intend to further grow the event in the future, bringing to Gorizia titles and prizes of national importance and beyond.” Objective carried forward not only by the Team, but also by the Municipality itself, as the Sports Councilor remarked, Giulio Daidone: «Our administration has always aimed at promoting and supporting any sporting activity, which helps support children in their sporting and educational development».
