Power ranking S12: the Seahawks return to the top 10

Power ranking S12: the Seahawks return to the top 10

The fight for the NFC West is going to be exciting until the end. The four teams stand at 1 victory and in this little game, it is Seattle who is in the lead. Their successive victories, against the 49ers and Cardinals, allowed the Seahawks to launch their final sprint perfectly.

Another successful division, the NFC North has 3 teams with more than 8 victories. The Lions have the advantage of having already beaten their two rivals at home and are big favorites for first place in the NFC conference. Watch out for the Eagles who haven’t said their last word.

In the AFC, the Chiefs and the Ravens are relaunching, the Steelers are surprised in Cleveland and the Dolphins continue their comeback.

As a reminder, this hierarchy is not only based on the number of successes, but also on current form. If two teams are close and haven’t played each other recently, one wonders which one would win if the match were played today. Beating the strongest is not going to propel you to the top in the blink of an eye. Losing to one of the dunces won’t plunge you into the abyss either. One can win and tumble, bow and climb. This is the merciless law of Power Ranking…

1. Detroit Lions (10-1)

In their last three games, the Lions have outscored their opponents 53-0 in the second half.

Week 13: Bears reception

2. Buffalo Bills (8-2)

After their victory against the Chiefs, the Bills are rested before hosting the 49ers.

Week 13: 49ers reception

3. Kansas City Chiefs (10-1)

Even against the Panthers, the Chiefs have no room to maneuver. Against Carolina, Kansas City’s defense was in difficulty. Fortunately for the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is better.

Week 13: Raiders reception

4. Philadelphia Eagles (9-2)

302 yards in total for Saquon Barkley who has been walking on water since he was in Philadelphia.

Week 13: trip to the Ravens

5. Baltimore Ravens (8-4) +1

Baltimore removes the Chargers threat and takes advantage of Pittsburgh’s defeat to completely relaunch itself in its division. Perfect week for the Ravens.

Week 13: Eagles reception

6. Minnesota Vikings (9-2) +1

Minnesota scared itself but the Vikings were able to count on a perfect Sam Darnold in overtime.

Week 13: Cardinals reception

7. Green Bay Packers (8-3) +1

Josh Jacobs and Green Bay cling to the pace imposed by the Lions and the Vikings.

Week 13: Dolphins reception

8. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) -3

This surprise defeat will put Pittsburgh under pressure, before a complicated end to the season on paper. Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs will notably be on the Steelers program in December.

Week 13: trip to the Bengals

9. Seattle Seahawks (6-5) +5

Capital victory for the Seahawks who join their evening opponent at the top of the NFC West.

Week 13: trip to the Jets

10. Los Angeles Chargers (7-4) -1

Third duel, third defeat, Jim still hasn’t found a way to beat John.

Week 13: trip to the Cardinals

11. Denver Broncos (7-5) +2

The Broncos took a while to get into the game. Then the Nix/Sutton connection was reestablished and Denver won without trembling in Las Vegas.

Week 13: Browns reception

12. Washington Commanders (7-5) -2

Washington has lost its early season momentum. The NFC East now appears like an unattainable dream. With this third consecutive defeat, it is even their hopes of the playoffs which are starting to dwindle.

Week 13: receiving the Titans

13. Arizona Cardinals (6-5) -2

Impressive for several weeks, the Cardinals came up short against the Seahawks. Coming out of the bye week, the offense looked rusty.

Week 13: trip to the Vikings

14. Houston Texans (7-5) -2

Ka’imi Fairbairn missed the inevitable and is expensive in Houston. But the Texans should never have found themselves in this situation against the Titans. Fortunately for them, they are in the weakest division in the league and their place in the playoffs is not threatened.

Week 13: trip to the Jaguars

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-6) +3

Faced with an opponent much weaker than the previous ones, Tampa Bay is relaunching in the race for the NFC South.

Week 13: trip to the Panthers

16. Miami Dolphins (5-6) +3

Tagovailoa and Miami continue against New England. We will now have to confirm against an opponent of another caliber, starting on Friday.

Week 13: trip to the Packers

17. Atlanta Falcons (6-5)

The Falcons are at rest. Enough to evacuate the correction taken in Denver before welcoming the Chargers in great shape.

Week 13: Chargers reception

18. San Francisco 49ers (5-6) -3

Weakened by injuries, the 49ers did not exist in Green Bay and suffered a second defeat after losing to the Seahawks at home. The rest of the schedule does not allow us to be optimistic for the end of San Francisco’s season.

Week 13: trip to the Bills

19. Los Angeles Rams (5-6) -3

Without a solution to the Eagles’ ground game, the Rams missed the opportunity to join the Cardinals and the Seahawks.

Week 13: trip to the Saints

20. Indianapolis Colts (5-7)

Anthony Richardson fell back into his old ways. Against the Lions, the young quarterback only completed 39% of his passes.

Week 13: trip to the Patriots

21. Cincinnati Bengals (4-7)

Resting this week, the Bengals know that their playoff hopes depend on a perfect end to the season.

Week 13: Steelers reception

22. Chicago Bears (4-7)

Caleb Williams and Chicago thought they could put an end to the lack of success that has followed them for several weeks but they completely missed out on their extension. The Bears are the kings at bringing all the emotions to their fans, but it never ends in a “happy ending”.

Week 13: trip to the Lions

23. New Orleans Saints (4-7)

A week of rest which interrupts the Saints’ series of victories but which will allow them to prepare well for the reception of the Rams.

Week 13: Rams reception

24. Dallas Cowboys (4-7) +1

The American Turpin is much more fun than its French namesake.

Week 13: Giants reception

25. Cleveland Browns (3-8) +3

After the Ravens, it’s the Steelers’ turn to fall against Jameis Winston’s Browns. The former Buccaneers transcends himself during divisional duels.

Week 13: trip to the Broncos

26. Tennessee Titans (3-8) +3

Prestige victory for the Titans in Texas. Will Levis is always capable of the worst as well as the best and son interception could have been very expensive.

Week 13: trip to the Commanders

27. New York Jets (3-8) -3

Week of respite for the Jets.

Week 13: Seahawks reception

28. Carolina Panthers (3-8) -2

The Panthers did not come far from the feat. Against the renowned Chiefs defense, Bryce Young continues to show that he is improving.

Week 13: reception of the Buccaneers

29. New England Patriots (3-8) -2

This time, the Patriots were unable to compete with their opponent. We had to wait until the last quarter to see New England score points in Miami.

Week 13: receiving the Colts

30. Las Vegas Raiders (2-9)

The Raiders had one last possession to go for overtime but Aidan O’Connell came in to make sure that wouldn’t happen.

Week 13: trip to the Chiefs

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) +1

For the first time since October 20, the Jaguars will have an undefeated week. Unfortunately for them, there is only one week off per year.

Week 13: reception of the Texans

32. New York Giants (2-9) -1

Daniel Jones wasn’t the Giants’ only problem. Brian Daboll lost his locker room and would do well to update his CV, he may need it soon.

Week 13: trip to the Cowboys
