921 clubs, 81 nations represented, 4,108 athletes, 908 coaches, 122 referees. These are the mind-boggling numbers of Venice Youth League Karate in scena a Jesolo from 4 to 8 December. An event of international scope, which will be hosted at the Palazzo del Turismo and which confirms the prestigious seaside location as the capital of the youth tatami.
To organize the event, which is configured as the largest gathering of youth karate, MultiSport Veneto Srl SDa company founded in 2016 as the operating arm of Asi Karate Veneto Centro Karate Noale. Association, the latter, affiliated to Fijikam (Italian Federation of Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts), chaired by Master Vladi Vardiero and among the most successful at a national level for the competitive results obtained in almost half a century of activity.
Thousands of athletes, of all categories, who will compete on the tatami and perform in the specialty of Kata.
Considered technicians and companions in tow, it is estimated that Jesolo will be literally invaded for a week by 10 thousand people from all over the world. Also among the nations represented Ukraine, Syria, Iran, Turkmenistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Senegal, New Caledonia, Jamaica, Japan, India, Iceland, French Polynesia and Aruba. Much anticipation for the debut on the tatamis of the Youth League Papua New Guinea and, with a pinch of patriotism, for the results that the Azzurri will be able to achieve. A large team, the Italian one, which has 869 athletes returning from a great performance at the youth world championships in October where they won 15 medals with 5 gold.
“I take this opportunity to thank all the staff of the Italian Fijlkam Federation, MultiSport Veneto and all the volunteers involved for the immense commitment made in the organization of the Venice/Jesolo 2024 World Championship and the WKF (World Karate Federation, ed) Youth League of the last six years, from 2018 to today – he declared Davide Benetello, presidente Fijlkam Settore Karate e WKF Executive Board member – These are organizations that have received praise from all over the world.”
Beyond the sporting setting, which represents an excellent showcase for disciplines that are acquiring more and more consensus also on national soil, the Venice Youth League Karate is an event of important economic importance for a city that makes tourism its point of Force. Suffice it to say that, in October, during the youth world cup, also held in Jesolo, the hotel sector had a turnover of 2 million and 200 thousand euros to which must then be added all the proceeds from related activities generated in the area (shops, restaurants…).
Last but not least, an added value to the event is the decision to give the event a green soul. In fact, during the Youth League, ad hoc strategies will be activated to protect and safeguard the environment, starting from the reuse of materials from the previous competition. To limit the use of plastic, water bottles will also be distributed and water columns will be installed. In all the structures of the Palazzo del Turismo, islands will be positioned for the collection and recycling of waste and information banners and multilingual signs will be set up in line with the objectives for sustainable development. The entourage logistics itself will be managed through 100% electric vehicles.
