Aidan O’Connell will be the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce confirmed the decision Wednesday, adding that O’Connell was sufficiently recovered from a broken right thumb suffered in a game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 20.
Gardner Minshew suffered a fractured left collarbone Sunday against the Denver Broncos, and will miss the remainder of the season as a result.
The Raiders could also have offered the start to Desmond Ridder, in the absence of Minshew.
