2nd Bundesliga: Away win for TV Refrath in Bonn with victories from Janssens, Hübsch, Peters and Kausemann
24. November 2024
With a total of 6 girls and boys, TV Refrath starts on Friday at the German U15 and U17 Championships in Bonn.
Clara Marcus (doubles) and Tristan Theobald (mixed) qualified as juniors in the U15 age group in one of the three disciplines. Pia Rappen even achieved this in singles and doubles in the U17 age group, where she will mainly face older opponents.
Also in U17, Fynn Ohliger is one of the top favorites in his two strong disciplines, doubles and mixed. In doubles he starts alongside Leon Kaschura (Lüdinghausen) and in mixed doubles with club colleague Kalliope Hermel from a top seeding position with the aim of winning at least one title.
Kalliope Hermel also wants this in her two other disciplines, singles and doubles, where she starts the race from seed number one. Nina Steffes is also on course for a medal, but realistically only in doubles with partner Safonova from Bavaria, who has taken the place of Steffes’ regular partner Maike Iffland because she is still abroad until the end of January.
The two coaches Daniel Winkelmann and Heinz Kelzenberg are looking forward to three exciting days and very much hope that their athletes can reward themselves for the diligent training work over the last few months.
A week later, Winkelmann travels to the second German championship, which is held for the U13 and U19 age groups in Gera (Thuringia) and in which seven young players from Refrath are allowed to compete.
