A few hours after finishing these first National Youth Games, all that remains is to say that we did it! The National Government achieved it, the Coffee Axis achieved it, Antioquia achieved it. We did very well.
Those of us who represent the white and green colors of Antioquia thank the Ministry of Sports, the Olympic Committee and the Paralympic Committee for organizing these first 2024 National Youth Games.
The holding of these sports games that brought together the protagonists of the Olympic and Paralympic sector is a good time. Not only from Antioquia are we grateful to the national government and the Ministry of Sports for leading this event that clearly contributes to the development of national sports. We are sure that, from La Guajira to the Amazon, from Nariño to Arauca, and all the departments of the country plus the Capital District, we are pleased with this magnificent multi-sports event.
These first National Youth Games were a success. A challenge assumed with integrity and good taste by the Ministry of Sports to which the departmental sports entities of Risaralda, Caldas, Quindío, Valle del Cauca and the IDRD of Bogotá joined with substantial contributions. Gratitude also goes to those who welcomed our delegations, with open arms: the cities of Pereira, Armenia, Manizales, Cali and Bogotá, and the municipalities of Chinchiná, Calima-Darién and Nilo. And while it is true that, in Buenaventura and Chía , Antioquia did not arrive with its athletes and para-athletes, these populations were also architects of the success of these sporting events that, among other merits, put the Olympic sport and the paralympic.
With special enthusiasm we hope to meet again in 2027 with our senior category athletes and para-athletes. And in 2028, in Córdoba and Sucre, in the 2nd National and Paranational Youth Games.
We will be there with some of the young people who were here this year and with others who, like us, will appreciate this type of initiatives in favor of the country’s sports development.
From Antioquia, Land of Champions!, special gratitude.
