Thirteen athletes competing for the “Velvet Beach” trophy
A haul of 11 medals for the thirteen athletes of Judo Terralba – 8 agonists and 5 pre-agonists – who participated in the “Velvet Beach” trophy last weekend in Senigallia.
Marica Spanu, Emma Abdellatif, Jacopo Atzori, Gabriele Spanu, Andrea Meloni and Simone Diana won the gold medal; Sofia Abdellatif, Cristian Loi, Alessio Loi and Bryan Uccheddu the silver one and Lyam Moreggio the bronze one.
Also noteworthy are the results of Gianluca Spanu and Mattia Manca, in 5th place respectively, off the podium: both did well, but due to the very numerous categories, with 18 and 16 participants, they were forced to play numerous matches.
In the team ranking, Judo Terralba ranked 6th out of 25 participating companies.
“I am very satisfied with my athletes, even if there is still work to be done, especially on self-esteem, because it is often that which plays tricks,” comments coach Giovanni Spanu. “We’re done with the competitions for this year, now we’re ready for the stage Natale Camp in Bardonecchia, reserved for athletes.
“I thank all those who collaborate with us to ensure that our boys can participate in all the away games,” concludes the coach, “and for this event the Polisportiva Senigallia and my friend Michele Sabatini, who made us feel truly at home ”.
