The National Judo Championship, which was held at the Videna Sports Center 1, concluded with great performances by the athletes, who competed to earn a place on the national team that will face the competitions next year in 2025.
There were two days of competition where the junior national championship was held first, followed by the kyus cup, the Mini Prix and the Senior National Championship.
“My balance is positive. We have seen many new and established judokas who continue to maintain their category, and we also saw new talents in the juniors. We have the youngest boys who come from the Kyus Cup and who will soon be competing in the national championships junior and of course the mini Prix, which is always the championship we like the most,” said María Martínez, president of the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation.
Likewise, the head of the Judo Federation stated that: “Judo Peru is a family, each of us who are part of it, the coaches, the technicians, the athletes, end up spending so many hours together, we live so much the feeling for judo that “We ended up becoming a judo family.”
It is important to note that during the two days of competition, a ceremony was also held to present diplomas and degrees to the regional referees and the senseis of different clubs, respectively.
