Yudokas from Mendoza shine at the National Clausura in Jujuy

The 2024 National Closing Judo Tournament, held in San Salvador de Jujuy, brought together the best exponents of this sport in the country. Mendoza was present with a notable participation of the judokas from the Andes Talleres club, led by sensei Carlos Tejerina, who returned with three podiums that reaffirm the potential of the province in this discipline.

Yamil Visciglia, a promise that continues to grow

The most resonant name was that of Yamil Visciglia, who was crowned champion in the J15 category up to 64 kilos, ratifying his great moment after the success at the Evita 2024 Games. Thanks to this achievement, Yamil was selected to join the Argentine team that will compete at the South American School Games in Bucaramanga, Colombia, in December.

More podiums for Mendoza

In addition to Visciglia, two more Mendoza athletes took the podium:

Agustín Manzano, who obtained second place in the CGM -73 kilos category.
Francisco Alvarado, who finished in third place in the Seniors -90 kilos category, the highest division of competitive judo.

A team with great potential

The Andes Talleres team also had other solid performances from its members:

Joaquín Romero, seventh in his category.
Jorge Sarracino, fifth place.
Jonathan Sacaba, fifth place.
Nicolás Costa, completing a team that showed dedication and talent.

Mendoza, cradle of judo talents

Mendoza’s participation in the National Clausura reaffirms the commitment of local clubs to training high-performance athletes and strengthening the competitive level of judo in the province. With achievements like those of Yamil Visciglia, Mendoza consolidates itself as a pool of future national representatives in this discipline.
