HOCKEY. Like several QMJHL teams, the Voltigeurs are taking advantage of the change in NCAA regulations. The Drummondville outfit has just recruited Jesse Allecia.
Aged 19, this American forward played in British Columbia so far this season. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound right-hander is already committed to the University of New Hampshire Wildcats (NCAA Division 1) for the upcoming campaign.
“Jesse is a player who is making full progress,” said Voltigeurs general manager Yanick Lemay. He works in both directions of the ice and he has a good understanding of the game. He also has good speed, he can create plays or shoot on the move.

In 20 games this season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the BCHL, Jesse Allecia has four goals and ten assists. The young man from New York said he was both proud and enthusiastic about joining the Voltigeurs.
“This is an incredible opportunity to grow as a player and contribute to the success of this prestigious organization. I am ready to give everything I have for this team and its fans,” he said in a press release issued by the organization.
Jesse Allecia will join his new teammates over the next few hours. He should be in uniform on Friday evening, when the Victoriaville Tigres will be the visitors to the Marcel-Dionne center.
Maxime Lafond in the BCHL
For his part, Maxime Lafond would join the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, in British Columbia. His name was added to the roster of this BCHL team.
Remember that the 18-year-old striker left the Voltigeurs in recent days.
