Italian Judo Wrestling Karate and Martial Arts Federation

On November 20, a meeting was held at the sports department of the city of Turin, represented by Dr. Giuseppe Libonati, on the initiative of the ASD EUROPA TEAM and the ANDOS, National Association of Women on Breast Surgery, represented by the President Fulvia Pedrani, which was attended by President Patrizia Giordanengo representing our committee. The theme of the meeting was the “KARA TE DONNA” project, born from the collaboration between the ASD EUROPA TEAM and ANDOS and which aims to offer help to women affected by breast cancer to find mental and physical balance through the practice of karate. After a phase of comparison and experimentation, ANDOS has assessed as important the benefits that can derive from the practice of martial arts, in particular karate, which through a series of coordinated movements is able to improve strength, flexibility, balance and management of emotions, making the individual stronger in dealing with everyday life.

The rationale of KARA TE DONNA is based on these peculiarities, with the premise of bringing women affected by breast cancer and breast surgery to a psychophysical recovery in harmony with the concept of health expressed by the WHO which describes health as a biopsychosocial rehabilitation and not just as the absence of disease.

The course is active from September 23rd.
