Nielsen, a famous media performance management company, has published its latest data Media Distributor Gauge for October 2024, which look at how much of each studio’s content is watched. According to the Media Distributor Gauge of October, Disney retains first place among distributors in October 2024, ahead of NBC Universal et YouTubeto gain the largest share of television audiences on linear and streaming platforms.

Disney took advantage of its multi-platform capabilities and once again established itself as the leading media group in October 2024, gaining 0.4 points of market share compared to September to reach 11.7% of the total market share of the television. Disney was boosted by a 7% increase in viewership for broadcast affiliatesABC thanks to the NFL (National Football League) and college football, as well as the show’s consistent performance ABC World News Tonight. At the same time, an 8% increase in the channel’s audience ESPNdriven by both football and baseball, was the largest increase among cable networks in Disney.
FOX was able to improve its position in the scale of media distributors, obtaining a higher score than that of Netflixincreasing its overall audience by 16%. The channel also benefited from a 2.5% increase in the Tubi audience and an increase in the audience for sports broadcasts from the NFL and the MLB.
Unlike most audience charts, which typically focus only on streaming or linear viewing, this data shows how, when combined, traditional media studios are still more popular than Netflixwhich dominates the streaming audience, but has no linear audience.
One of the biggest problems facing Disney is faced is the way its content is distributed across different platforms like Hulu et Disney+and channels like ABC, FX, National Geographicetc., but this data brings it all together, presenting an overall picture of Disney.
