Yohanner Sifontes arrives to reinforce Brazilian basketball

After his performance with the National Team in the FIBA ​​Window, Yohanner Sifontes headed to Brazil to join Botafogo of the first division.

The 29-year-old shooting guard has made international appearances in the Colombian and Argentine leagues in recent years. His last experience outside had been with Leones, from Bolivia, in the 2023 South American League. He then reinforced Gladiadores in the BCLA and played in the SPB 2024 with Spartans DC, being taken by Trotamundos in the Postseason Draft.

With the capital team he averaged 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists (28 games). While with the Blue Express he left 8.5 units, 4.0 crystals and 1.9 qualifications (eight games).

He was in the recent double date of the AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers with Venezuela, which lost in its visits to Argentina (72-61) and Chile (86-61). He scored 4 and 15 points, respectively, taking charge at various times in the window.

Now he will add his first internship in Brazilian basketball with the Carioca eleco, which started with a 4-7 record in the season. Thus, he joins José Materán and Pedro Chourio, the other Venezuelans in the NBB today, although both are currently injured.
