After two years of decline, the total wealth of Switzerland’s 300 richest has risen again and reached a record level of 833.5 billion francs. Total assets increased by 4.8 percent, exceeding the previous high from the Corona year 2021.
Responsible for the trend reversal are gains in stock and real estate markets, two areas in which the super-rich are traditionally heavily invested.
Federer Number 156
Neo-Rapperswil Roger Federer is not in the top ten. His account balance increases by 100 million – that means a jump from 160th to 156th place.
His future neighbor Jorge Lemann, on the other hand, occupies a top position. Despite recent losses, the beer and fast food king from Kempraten is in sixth place on the list with assets of 17 to 18 billion.
100 million as a limit
Swiss nationals and foreigners who reside in this country are included in the list. The lower limit for inclusion on the list is assets of 100 million francs.
Wertheimer at the top
The Chanel co-owner Gérard Wertheimer (73), who lives in Geneva, ends up in first place. However, the fashion king has lost something – his fortune fell from 41 to 42 to currently 37.5 billion francs.
The other places on the podium also remain the same: the Roche-owning families Hoffmann, Oeri and Duschmalé with 28.5 billion francs and Klaus-Michael Kühne (87) with 27.5 billion francs occupy places 2 and 3.
However, there was a change at the top: the Firmenich family, which gained around five billion francs through the merger of its flavors and fragrances group with DSM, pushed the Kamprad heirs out of the top ten.
Blocher with 15 billion
The Blocher clan doesn’t have to starve either. His fortune increased by a billion francs. With assets of 15 to 16 billion, the family has moved up a rank and is now in ninth place.
