Judo-Funeral/The entire Republic grateful for the work of Me Mandjombé

Died on November 4 following illness, the remains of the patriarch of Gabonese judo received the nation’s tributes this Friday, November 29 at the Oloumi gymnasium in Libreville.

It is in the presence of the Prime Minister, Sensei Raymond Ndong Sima, the Minister of Sports, André Jacques Augand, several personalities as well as all judo practitioners that the body of the late Me Georges Mandjombé, 7th dan, was exposed this Friday at the Oloumi gymnasium to receive the last tributes of the Republic.

Speaking, the Prime Minister paid glowing tribute to him, a man he has known since 1983. “He was ill in recent months and asked the State for an extension of his support for Cnamgs. But it was already late,” admitted Raymonde Ndong Sima, who revealed that she had a relationship of mutual respect with Mr. Mandjombé, “an exemplary and disciplined man.”

“Everything he does for Gabonese judo will only have meaning if it is sustained” declared the Prime Minister.

Speaking in turn, the president of the Gabonese Gabonese Judo Federation, on behalf of this great sporting family, recognized the immense work of the illustrious deceased who, it must be remembered, was an international referee and founder from the Jigoro Kano club.

“It’s a big loss for Gabonese judo. We obviously have fond memories of the deceased. We have a duty to perpetuate the achievements he bequeathed to us, because he looks at us from where he is going, declared Me Hugues Boguikouma.

After the gymnasium, the body of Me Mandjombé rests in his home in Agondjé in the commune of Akanda, since 2 p.m. for the wake and other tributes from relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Note that his burial will take place this Saturday, November 30 at the municipal cemetery of Cap Esterias.
