The Cluj University Sports Club (more commonly known as Cluj University) is a basketball team from the city of Cluj-Napoca. They play in the Liga Națională, the top division of the Romanian basketball championship.

The history ofCluj University it is partially linked to that of the almost homonymous one U-Mobitelco Cluj. The two companies in fact have roots in common. Founded in 1947 as the basketball section of the sports club CS Cluj University (founded in 1919) went out of business in 1966 when the U-Mobitelco it became an independent company, bringing with it its membership number and palmarès (at the time unprotected).
In 2013 the sports club CS Cluj University he decided to restart the basketball activity, thus re-establishing the team. After just one year in Liga I, Universitatea Cluj was promoted to the Romanian top division.
