Around a hundred players and 33 clubs present at the second Footsider Scouting Day

Paris FC, Fleury, Metz… 33 professional, amateur and foreign clubs responded to the call Footsider application for connecting football players and professional and amateur football clubs founded in 2022 by Yacine Brahimi and Ronaldinho. An appointment was made on Friday, in the east of Paris, for this second women’s Scouting Day. Around a hundred players, preselected thanks to the sports CV they completed on the application, “the Linkedin of football», thus participated in what is presented as “the largest detection in France”.

“The objective of this detection is to put the physical into what we call physigital. The goal is to bring together the 100 best players from our Footsider panel through an event so that clubs can, beyond the application, see our profiles on the field once a year.explains Sami Benchebana, sports manager Footsiderin a press release recalling that the project “comes from the Second Chance Academy association. We have been carrying out detections across France and French-speaking countries for more than five years. With the arrival of COVID, we decided to digitalize the project. The idea was to facilitate recruitment for the club and vice versa for players through an application. Today we have 150,000 users and 2,600 clubs who have registered..

Three professional contracts last year

And to add: “Being able to bring together a panel of 100 players from the U14 to senior generation on the same day, without traveling and touring the pitches, is an opportunity. Here, it allows players to get out of their comfort zone by playing with players they don’t know. Following last year’s event, 12 players tried out. Some have signed with clubs in France and abroad. The conversion rate is between 6 and 10% for Footsider in terms of connection between players and clubs. We give a chance to these players who have not gone through the classic system to be seen. It gives them the opportunity to reach a level that they might not be able to reach in a club. We try to create matches between players and clubs and the goal remains to facilitate recruitment”. For the first edition, three players won a professional contract.
