The Colombian 3×3 basketball delegation added to the national medal table of the Bolivarian Games of the Bicentennial Ayacucho 2024, adding two important medals: silver in the women’s branch and bronze in the men’s.
In the women’s final, Colombia faced Chile. Jennifer Alexandra Muñoz, Carolina López and Valentina López led the team after the unfortunate absence of Yulani Paz, who suffered a knee injury that left her out of the competition. Valentina López was the star of the team by scoring six points, half of those scored by the Colombian team in the match. Although the Chileans took the gold, Colombia celebrated a creditable silver medal after finishing the match 17 to 12.
For its part, the men’s team played a close match against Chile for the bronze. With an outstanding performance by José David Lozano, who scored nine of Colombia’s 17 points, the team managed to win 17-15 and secure its place on the podium. In this category, the gold went to the Dominican Republic and the silver to Venezuela.
