A new era for Teddy Riner

A new era for Teddy Riner

During a thank you evening organized this Friday, November 29 at the Institut du Judo Porte de Châtillon, to which were invited “all those who contributed in one way or another to all these adventures” To use his words, Teddy Riner took the time to look back on his career before outlining what his future will look like.

After speeches by the president of France Judo, Stéphane Nomis, the president of the Île-de-France region, Valérie Pecresse, and the new Minister of Sports, Youth and Community Life, Gil Avérous, and some musical interludes , the five-time Olympic champion took the opportunity to highlight several key elements in his entourage since his debut at the high level: Dominique Paolozzi, Alain Perriot, Franck Chambily, Christian Chaumont, Frédéric Miredin, Julien Corvo, Meriem Selmi, without forgetting his mother and his partner Luthna Plocus.

Several retrospectives on his career, the (re)rise in power following his judo break the day after his tenth world title in 2017, were also broadcast, before a presentation, provided by Teddy Riner himself with the Eiffel Tower in background, of its new visual identity, through which it reveals itself like never before. The creations of a tournament and a foundation were thus announced, while an auction at the end of the evening raised funds for the organizations of which he is the sponsor, including the Imagine Institute. Without ever forgetting the Los Angeles Games, Teddy Riner has already laid the foundations for his final Olympiad.
