Michael Brundiers receives gold LSB badge of honor
On November 22nd, 2024, Michael Brundiers was given a special honor: the head of the teaching and training department of the Lower Saxony Badminton Association (NBV) received the gold badge of honor from the Lower Saxony State Sports Association (LSB). The award, the highest recognition for voluntary commitment in sports in Lower Saxony, was presented by Rainer Sonntag, Vice President of the LSB. The LThe audition was given by Hans Werner Niesner, former national badminton coach. The President of the Lower Saxony Badminton Association, Markus Bennewitz, had to cancel his participation due to illness.
In his speech, Niesner highlighted the impressive work of Brundiers, who has headed the teaching and training department for almost three decades. Under his leadership, the department was fundamentally restructured and innovative course concepts emerged that also received the highest recognition at the federal level.
Brundiers, who holds both the DOSB A trainer license and the DOSB trainer certificate, led all of the NBV’s trainer training and advanced training courses for over twenty years. It was only when the corona pandemic began that he withdrew from active indoor work.
In his acceptance speech, the newly honored person emphasized the importance of the honor for him personally:
“The awarding of the Lower Saxony State Sports Association’s Golden Badge of Honor, the highest award for volunteers, fills me with great joy. This honor and the associated appreciation of my work in the Lower Saxony Badminton Association (NBV) mean a lot to me. Although I have already received various awards from the NBV and the German Badminton Association (DBV), it is something very special when one’s own achievements are recognized and recognized beyond the association’s borders.”
Michael Brundiers also thanked all his companions who have supported him in his voluntary work over the past almost 30 years.
With the award, the LandesSportBund Lower Saxony not only recognizes Brundiers’ extraordinary contributions to the sport of badminton, but also his tireless commitment to the development and promotion of coaching.
We congratulate you on this award.
