Dozens dead after violent altercations during a soccer match in Guinea: “The morgue is full”

Several dozen people have died this Sunday in the clashes between fans during a football match in N’Zérékoré, south-east of Guineaaccording to medical sources. The exact death toll is still unknown, although some local media speak of at least a hundred.

In some videos circulating on social networks, scenes of great confusion appear in the streets after clashes broke out.

According to the press, it was a tournament dedicated to the head of the Guinean military junta, General Mamadi Doumbouya, who came to power after a coup d’état in September 2021 and later became president.
