(Toronto) RJ Barrett scored 37 points and the Toronto Raptors recorded their third straight home victory on Sunday, winning 119-116 against the Miami Heat.
Barrett was 3-for-4 from beyond the perimeter. The Ontarian has averaged 26.7 points in his last seven games.
The Raptors took revenge after a defeat suffered Friday in Miami, by a score of 121-111. Scottie Barnes added 23 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Jakob Poeltl provided 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter did well, collecting 12 points in 17 minutes. Gradey Dick missed a fourth straight game with a left calf injury.
At work for 16 minutes, Montrealer Chris Boucher was solid with eight points, a steal and two blocks.
Toronto led 65-60 at the half, en route to a 98-87 cushion after three quarters. Toronto’s lead was cut to 116-113, but Tyler Herro missed what would have been a game-tying shot with 28 seconds left.
After three free throws from Barnes, a late shot from Bam Adebayo no longer mattered. Herro led the Heat with 31 points, including 6-for-12 on three-pointers.
Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier contributed 17 points each, while Adebayo had 13 points and 20 rebounds.
The Raptors’ next game will take place Tuesday in Toronto, against the Indiana Pacers (7:30 p.m., RDS2, TSN).
