31st Stops Tournament | TSV Freudenstadt 1862 eV

A total of 74 young athletes from the clubs TV Bühlertal (TVB), JC Horb (JCH), TV Oberndorf (TVO), TV Rottenburg (TVR), Budozentrum Rottweil (BZR) and the host TSV Freudenstadt ( FDS).

The Stops tournament was first launched in 1991 by the then judo department head Hansjürgen “Stops” Stockburger. As a beginners’ tournament, only children and young people up to the age of 14 and up to orange belt are eligible to take part. The rules are also based on the youngest participants. This means that older participants are not allowed to use armbars, for example, and boys and girls can start together in the weight classes.

The carers, family members and visitors saw fair and exciting fights. All judoka took to the mat with great ambition to win one of the coveted winners’ trophies. The judo values were never lost sight of: even after a defeat, each fighter paid his respect to his counterpart with a very serious bow and a subsequent handshake.

Before the award ceremony, TSV department head Stefan Lippert thanked the guests for their appearance, but especially the numerous helpers: “Without the active support of the parents and our club members in setting up and dismantling, as referees, supervisors, jumpers, list writers and many other activities Such an event would not be possible.”

Things got exciting again at the award ceremony when everyone was waiting for the result of the team rankings. The first three places in particular were very close together. JC Horb narrowly prevailed ahead of the clubs TSV Freudenstadt and TV Bühlertal.
