LEONDING/GMUNDEN. The ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding was awarded the Judo Austria Award 2024 as young club of the year. The couple Andrea and Martin Stump (chairman and deputy) accepted the trophy together with their young coaches and the young judokas at the weekend as part of the Final 4 tournament of the Judo Bundesliga.
After 2022, it was the second time that ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding received the title of Young Club of the Year – for the Leofighters it was a well-deserved reward after a successful year. This year you were crowned champions (together with Reichraming) with the U16 mixed team. Magdalena Mayrhofer conquered the Austrian U-23 championship title (-63kg). Marie Spielbüchler (-52kg) and Selina Wögerer (-70kg) were crowned U-16 champions. And at the ASKÖ national championships, the ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding was the most successful club with a total of 18 medals, nine of which were gold.
The ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding was founded in 1977 and has been an independent judo club since 2019. The married couple Andrea and Martin Stump are primarily responsible for achieving a large number of national and international successes every year.
“We are incredibly proud of our Leofighters and what they have achieved this year. The intensive work with young talent pays off on so many levels and this award is now a nice recognition of that. In 2025 things should continue in this tone,” say ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding chairwoman Andrea Stump and her deputy Martin Stump.
