Against one of the best teams in the championship, Nuova Pallacanestro Marsala did not collect any points in what was already expected to be a very difficult away match.
Marsala 30/11/2024 – Nuova Pallacanestro Marsala does not collect points away from home in one of the most difficult away matches of the championship, the one against Alfa Basket Catania, a team among the best equipped for the jump in category of this 2024-25 Serie C . The Etna team won the ninth matchday with a score of 93-48.
The Marsala team got off to a good start in the first quarter. Anteri’s boys, on the bench as head coach with Grillo absent due to suspension, managed to take the lead over the Etna players with Miculis twice from 6.75 and Stankovic and remained in the wake until the end of the first ten minutes of the game when the Catania team they get into fourth gear and begin to grind out point after point especially with Drigo (14 personal points out of 23 in the first quarter alone) while the Marsala team struggle to find concreteness in their conclusions. The last part of the game slips away with Alfa Basket firmly ahead and the two benches deciding to give space to the players who have been used less so far, including the new acquisition from Catania Smorto, who carves out the role of the second best scorer of the match with 17 personal points, while for Marsala Captain Frisella stands out, with a triple scored among the many out of proportion attempted by NPM. The match ends 93-48.
Nuova Pallacanestro Marsala will return to the field at home on December 8th at 6pm against Nova Basket Capo d’Orlando.
