UTRECHT • CVV Vriendenschaar records an expected, but meager 0-2 victory over last-place DVSU.
In the second minute, Jesper van Engen opened the score after a save by the DVSU keeper on a shot by Vincent Zuurmond. Vriendenschaar had the upper hand, but failed to create many clear-cut opportunities. In the 17th minute, Van Engen doubled the lead after a perfect free kick from Vincent Zuurmond.
Despite the quick 0-2 lead, Vriendenschaar failed to push through and further increase the goal difference, which could be important for a possible period title or championship. In the second half the game pattern remained the same, with DVSU putting a little more pressure, but without worrying the Vriendenschaar defense.
The excellent DVSU keeper prevented a bigger defeat. Next week awaits Sportpark Terwijde UVV, which has performed inconsistently this season, and the team of coach Jordy Waroux will have to perform better to maintain its undefeated home status.
BZS beats Wadenoijen
WADENOIJEN • BZS won 1-3 on the tuber field of Wadenoijen, recording their tenth victory of the season. After just five minutes it became clear that Wadenoijen was completely withdrawing from defense. BZS continued to play patiently, which resulted in the opening goal in the 15th minute: Jesse de Bloois put the ball back to Gill van Beurden, who enabled Twan Regtien to score (0-1).
After 25 minutes a nice attack followed from the right, with Tom Beenen sending his opponent into the woods and finding Gill van Beurden. The ball ended up in the goal via a carom, good for his 13th goal of the season. Five minutes later, Wadenoijen made it 1-2 with their only outburst, but BZS quickly recovered: again it was Twan Regtien who made it 1-3.
In the second half it was one-way traffic, but BZS hit the post and crossbar several times. Despite the poor field and the defensive play of Wadenoijen, BZS achieved a deserved victory and headed for promotion to the fourth division.
