The Arsenal u21s were in action on Sunday against Brighton and Hove Albion in a Premier League 2 clash, and it turned out to be an entertaining contest for those watching on.
There were chances for both sides in the first half, with Arsenal summer signing Tommy Setford making a relatively comfortable save before Khayon Edwards gave the Gunners the lead with a shot from close to the penalty spot.
The goal was assisted by Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, keeping his excellent form going. The 21-year-old now has six goals and six assists in eight Premier League 2 games.

Butler-Oyedeji almost doubled Arsenal’s lead in the second half, but the goalkeeper stood tall to stop his chipped effort. Meanwhile Setford kept the Gunners ahead with a couple of saves, including an impressive stop from a free-kick.
“I put a wall of four men in there and a charger” Setford said of his free-kick save afterwards. “[The extra man] moved to the ball, so I couldn’t see the ball. So I did a little step (towards the wall’s side), but it went on my side!
“So it was a good save, and I got the ball back eventually, so that’s good.”

Yet Brighton ultimately found their equaliser with a header from a corner in injury time.
14-year-old Max Dowman came on for the final minutes of the game, making his debut appearance in the Premier League 2. He was quickly involved in a key incident as Imari Samuels was sent off for a foul on the Arsenal youngster.
But that was already in the 97th minute, and it was too late to take advantage of the extra man. The game finished 1-1.
