The Golden State Warriors seem immortal. And they owe it in part to their leader, who will celebrate his 37th birthday next March. After defeating the Blues in the Olympic final, Curry returned to cruising speed, notably with a very solid 43.4% three-point success rate. In his wake, the Warriors monopolize the top 4 in the West.

#9 Franz Wagner (Orlando Magic)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 33
  • Stats in October-November: 23.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists

No Paolo Banchero, no problem. In the absence of the first choice of the 2022 draft, injured throughout the month of November, Franz Wagner was able to take his responsibilities to carry the Magic. Extended for $224 million over five years, a contract which will take effect next year, the German winger proves his leaders right by guiding the Magic to the Eastern Conference podium.

#8 LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 42
  • Stats in October-November: 30.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7 assists

After two seasons marred by injuries (36 games played in 2022-2023, 22 games in 2023-2024), he is back at 100%. And it shows. Second best scorer in the entire league, the second pick of the draft 2020 is unstoppable at the start of the season. For the moment, however, his individual impact is difficult to see in the collective results of the Charlotte Hornets.

#7 Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 46
  • Stats in October-November: 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 12 wins – 8 losses

His 40 points and 10 rebounds in the Dallas Mavericks’ second outing this season, on October 27 on the Phoenix Suns floor, set the tone. Behind, Luka Doncic, who missed six of the Mavs’ 20 games, made Luka Doncic, even if his stats are down compared to his stratospheric 2023-2024 season (33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists). But when you start from so high…

#6 Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 74
  • Stats in October-November: 24 points, 3.9 assists, 1.5 steals
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 17 wins – 3 losses

The top scorer for the best team in the league at the start of the season. If the Cleveland Cavaliers dominate above all thanks to their collective strength, and it is therefore difficult to bring out an individuality, he is the No. 1 option in attack, ahead of Darius Garland.

#5 Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 118
  • Stats in October-November: 28.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 16 wins – 3 losses

The quiet strength of the Boston Celtics. Without making any noise, the reigning champions are well established in second place in the Eastern Conference. And they owe it in particular to the performance of their offensive boss. Just to get into the rhythm, he started the season with three 37-point games in his first five outings.

#4 Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 119
  • Stats in October-November: 32.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 9 wins – 9 losses

If the Bucks have sometimes faltered at the start of the season, with seven defeats in nine games to start the 2024-2025 financial year, he has worked to keep the ship afloat. With three games with more than 40 points, including a major performance against Detroit on November 14 (59 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocks), Giannis Antetokoúnmpo worked hard to bring Milwaukee back into the first part of the table.

#3 Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 127
  • Stats in October-November: 28.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.1 blocks
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 11 wins – 8 losses

He is one of the most dominant players in the league when he is on his two legs. At the start of the season, he simply posted his highest career points average. Defensive boss of the Angelinos, he is also the best scorer on his team, ahead of LeBron James. And undoubtedly the main reason for the Lakers’ rather successful start to the season.

#2 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC Thunder)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 154
  • Stats in October-November: 29.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 15 wins – 4 losses

The undisputed boss of the best team in the West at the start of the season. Fourth best scorer in the league, “SGA” is as consistent as ever, with only one game below the 20-point mark since the restart (18 points against the San Antonio Spurs on October 31). A peak of 45 points, 9 assists and 5 interceptions on November 12 against the Los Angeles Clippers.

#1 Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)

  • Number of points on the RMC Sport scale: 195
  • Stats in October-November: 29.7 points, 13.2 rebounds, 10.7 assists
  • Collective assessment in October-November: 10 wins – 8 losses

His performances tend to be trivialized. If the Denver Nuggets are only 9th in the Western Conference this Monday, December 2 (2 of the 8 defeats were in the absence of Jokic), the Serbian pivot, who averages a triple-double, is quite simply the third best scorer, best rebounder and second best passer in the entire NBA. At the top of his game.

Also received points (in alphabetical order): Jaylen Brown, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, DeAron Fox, James Harden, LeBron James, Jalen Johnson, Evan Mobley, Ja Morant, Alperen Sengun, Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Wembanyama, Jalen Williams.

NB: in the coming months, RMC Sport will offer you an update of the race for the MVP title of the regular season, obtained by adding the monthly top 10.
