The Péret dojo, inaugurated as part of the system of 1,000 dojas of the French Judo Federation, symbolizes a successful collaboration between the municipality and the Team Judo 34 club. This ambitious project illustrates the common commitment to democratize access to judo and promote the development of local sports infrastructures.
Since the start of the school year, the club’s membership has doubled, demonstrating the enthusiasm of the residents. Thanks to the support of the Péret town hall, which subsidized the tatami mats necessary for training, the club now welcomes judokas of all ages, notably offering baby judo for toddlers. New this year is the introduction of sambo, a complete combat sport that combines techniques from judo, wrestling and boxing on the ground.
On Thursday, special attention is paid to judo adapted for people with disabilities. This initiative, in collaboration with the Camille-Claudel Center, illustrates the club’s desire to make sport accessible to all. Fabien and his team promote the fundamental principles of respect, discipline and team spirit, essential to these demanding but rewarding sporting practices.
