Double appointment in Mazara del Vallo for runners
Sicilians with enthusiasts who challenged themselves, some with the half marathon and others, within the same route, with the 7 km race. The distance performances of the athletes from Sacenza were excellent, especially from Sciacca Running. Toni Puccio, in fact, came second overall with his second best time ever 1h14’43”, while Luana Russo placed 3rd overall with her new Personal Best. The two athletes also won the Fidal regional title in their respective categories. Excellent time also for Michele Guzzardo, 3rd in the SM55 category, for Francesco della Vittoria, Sutera, Lentini, Infantino, Peralta, D’Asaro, Chiarello, Scaduto and Baldassano.
In the 7 km race, however, the best of the Saccensi was Giuseppe Fara with a time of 28:08, on the podium Stefania Bono, 3rd in the SF45 category, Francesca Scirica 1st in the SF and Giuseppe Errante 3rd in the SM35. Finally, Andrea Mandracchia from Sacco took part in the historic Half Marathon in Turin which he finished with a time of 1h27′.
And let’s move on to martial arts. Appointment in Palermo, price at the Pala Oreto building, for the Karate Judo Club of Sciacca. The athletes Luigi Monte, Alessio Nicosia, Salvatore Ciaccio and Emily Lattuca, the latter coming from Raffadali’s Cescus, took and successfully passed the 1st DAN black belt exams for the official Fijlkam federation.
285 athletes from all over Sicily were registered for the initiative. Supporting and accompanying the boys is the Saccense coach Michele Catanzaro who expresses satisfaction with the result achieved by his athletes.
