Judo Grand Slam, 12 Italians on the tatami in Tokyo: competitions and then training camp

Ostia – The Azzurri of the Italian Judo national team are preparing to fly to Tokyo for the next Grand Slam on the calendar. There are 12 Italian athletes, who will then also participate in a training camp.

“We are ready for this departure for Tokyo –said Enrico Parlati, one of the four coaches following, as reported by fijlkam.it– first important race for us after Paris… we are very happy to start again, to restart and then be able to train in the training camp”.

“Let’s face the race and the subsequent camp –said Giovanni Carollo, as fijlkam.it continues– in which the rest of the team will join us, like the beginning of a new journey. Some junior boys who have distinguished themselves during the year will compete for the first time at IJF level, others are starting the four-year period again with new enthusiasm, still others have changed categories and are looking for positive results in the competition. For everyone and especially for the younger ones, however, we hope the comparison in the next camp will be an important step in their growth path”.

As fijlkam.it reports – Athletes are Valerio Accogli, Mattia Miceli (66), Giovanni Esposito (73), Giacomo Gamba, Leonardo Casaglia (81), Christian Parlati (90), Gennaro Pirelli, Enrico Bergamelli (100), Michel Terranova (57), Sara Corbo, Flavia Favorini (63), Giorgia Stangherlin (70) with the technicians Enrico Parlati, Giovanni Carollo, Andrea Pastorelli and Matteo Marconcini, to whom condolences are extended for the family bereavement that has affected him.

The referee Roberta Chyurlia is also with the Italian delegation. The Tokyo Grand Slam will be live on Rai Play with commentary by Luigi Guido and Fabrizio Tumbarello.
