This Tuesday, December 3, 2024, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilitiesthe French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBS) presents its FFBS Parasports Guide.
Here is an extract of the questions raised following the survey of parasporting practices carried out by the FFBS among clubs in 2023.
It is clear that some clubs may find themselves unable to accommodate all audiences in a secure and inclusive manner, due to a lack of information, support and lack of awareness of disability.
This is why the Sport For All Commissionwanted to compile in this FFBS Parasports Guide some answers to guide and reassure clubs willing to welcome people with disabilities.
This guide organized under four sections is intended to be intuitive for easy and time-saving appropriation.
The interactivity of this digital tool will provide access to online information on our FFBS website and on partner sites (CPSF, FFH, FFSA, etc.) to complete the elements and have updates that may occur over time.
Accessible to allthis document is primarily aimed at club leaders, development managers and supervisors who wish to diversify and adapt their practice offerings to accommodate a wider audience.
Today, we identify throughout the territory a ten affiliated clubs to the French Baseball and Softball Federation offering activities ParaBaseball, ParaSoftball, a ParaBaseball5 to people with disabilities, whether in a specialized establishment or within the club in mixed disabled/able-bodied sections or between peers.
So why not you?
The FFBS thanks the actors who contributed to the development of this guide, including French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF)the clubs of Valenciennes vipers (59), POL Baseball Haute Vienne (87), Lions of Savigny-sur-Orge (91), Foxes of the Gapeau Valley (83) and Huskies de Rouen (76).
We invite you to share this guide as widely as possible, with your affiliated structures, educators, leaders, etc.
