The Lakers will try to recruit by February, it remains to be seen who exactly. A first offer was mentioned this Monday, but it is far from pleasing everyone. Unlikely to be accepted.
In a bad situation currently, and with injuries to boot, the Lakers are probably obliged to recruit by February. Rob Pelinka is under pressure, especially since the GM has made a lot of bad decisions in recent years. But with a lonely Anthony Davis and a LeBron James soon to be 40 years old, Pelinka has no choice.
The most complicated thing in Los Angeles is finding that rare gem and getting it for an attractive price. The domestic sector was quickly deemed a priority, with why not the return of an old member of the house. But the real target is Jonas Valanciunas, who signed in Washington last summer.
A trade already acquired for the Angelinos?
Because of his new contract, Valanciunas will not be able to be traded before December 15. We could therefore expect a trade soon in the City of Angels, obviously provided that the supply is sufficient. Michael Scotto, insider, mentioned a behind-the-scenes quid pro quo, and it is far from convincing.
Michael Scotto : “Gabe Vincent has been a disappointment since he joined the Lakers by signing a 3-year contract for 33 million. Blame it on injuries and ineffective shooting. Los Angeles will look to include him in a trade to fill salaries, with the added bonus of draft rounds during discussions. Keep an eye on Vincent and second-round draft picks to try to land Wizards center Jonas Valanciunas. »
The question now was whether such an offer will be enough. Unlikely? The Wizards will have plenty of calls for Valanciunas, which will allow the front office to up the ante. At the finish, we very much doubt that Vincent, disappointing for a long time, and simple second rounds will make a big difference.

Jonas Valanciunas would be a good addition for the Lakers, but will this offer really be enough? It’s hard to believe it, especially given Gabe Vincent’s level so far. Rob Pelinka still has work to do.
