A 25-year-old coach went into cardiorespiratory arrest during a youth category training session that was taking place on Monday afternoon at the La Canaleja soccer field in Alcorcón (Madrid). The young man has recovered from the arrest thanks to the use of an external semi-automatic defibrillator (desa), as reported by a spokesperson for 112 Emergencies Community of Madrid. It was his own colleagues who managed to revive him and get him out of the stop before the arrival of the Summa 112 ICU, which stabilized him and transferred him to the local hospital.
The young man is the coach of the CF Trival Valderas de Alcorcón youth B team and has collapsed on the field while training his players, between 16 and 18 years old. At around 7:10 p.m., 112 received a call from the field itself, reporting what had happened. “The 112 health personnel went to the scene and upon arrival they found that he was being revived by his own colleagues with a defibrillator,” the spokesperson detailed. Local Police have also intervened. Trival Valderas has reported that the evolution of its young coach is being favorable.
On May 17, a senior Móstoles CF player, Mardoche Luzolo Nsimba, 24, died suddenly during training at the Soto soccer fields, in the neighboring town of Móstoles, although the club did not report the exact cause of death. In October 2022, Mohamed, a 12-year-old boy, died when he had just finished playing a soccer match at the Príncipe de Asturias municipal sports center in the Madrid municipality of Pinto. The minor suffered a severe asthma attack and then bronchospasm. A man began resuscitation efforts with a defibrillator from the sports center, but the child’s life could not be saved.
