Turkish tennis professional Altug Celikbilek suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during a tournament in Tunisia. The semi-final match against his compatriot Yanki Erel at a lower-class event in Monastir was canceled on Saturday and Celikbilek was taken to hospital, the state news agency Anadolu reported.
The head of the Turkish Tennis Federation, Şafak Müderrisgil, said that a bleeding in an important region of the brain was discovered in the hospital and the 28-year-old was operated on.

Celikbilek is currently ranked 451 in the ATP world rankings. In February 2022, the Turk was already ranked 154th. (dpa)
