Judokas from the Mendois Dojo club taking part in black belt exams

The Mendoi athletes experienced varying fortunes on Saturday November 30 and Sunday December 1, in Mèze and Toulouse.

Saturday November 30 and Sunday 1is December 2024, the Occitanie Judo League organized a specific weekend for the belt exams from the first to the fourth dan. The Mendois Dojo Club had seven judokas applying for one of these units of value (UV), some having already validated it, others opening their counter.

On Saturday, in Mèze, Anaëlle Corral presented the UV 1 kata, a demonstration of nine codified techniques with a ceremonial. The jury was made up of three judokas ranked at the fifth dan. Anaëlle Corral performed sufficiently well, which allowed her to be validated.

In Toulouse, another place, another level. Mathieu Raymond presented two katas for the third dan in front of a high-ranking jury: all sixth or even seventh dan. At the end of the service, nothing to complain about, he accumulates three UVs out of the four to obtain for his grade. Sunday, time for UV 3, a test of combat effectiveness. To obtain it, you had to accumulate 100 or 120 points.

The next meeting, in March 2025

For the first Dan, Dorian Petitot totaled 47 points. Still in first dan, Matthias Alla reached 100 points.

Adrien Mialon, back in Mende in competition, obtained three victories by ippon and 30 points. Mathieu Raymond then added 20 points to his 40 already acquired. He therefore found himself halfway through, the last Mendois on this event, for the fourth dan. Maxime Bonnefoy, partner of Mathieu Raymond, was only able to fight three times. He collected 17 points, but he still needs 63 points to obtain an additional unit of value.

Officiating on Sunday was Cyrille Delafond, the teacher from the Mendois Dojo club. For his part, he validated value unit 4: knowledge and personal commitment, for the fourth dan.

The next such weekend will take place in March 2025.
