L’Aquila and province – The number of preventive services carried out by the Army last weekend increased.
Throughout the province, the number of services carried out on weekends has been increased, implementing the decisions taken at the meetings of the provincial committee for public order and safety chaired by the Prefect.
The numerous patrols deployed were used to carry out services aimed mainly at crime prevention, achieved through widespread control of the territory. This includes the complaint of two people, a 65-year-old Italian and a 53-year-old of foreign origin, who the soldiers of the station Sulmona they surprised in a center of the Peligna Valley in possession of burglary tools and binoculars.
Over 600 vehicles underwent checks and controls, 11 of which were driven by people sanctioned for violating the highway code. In one case, however, criminal proceedings were taken: the Carabinieri of Middle Rock they reported a 28-year-old of foreign origin who, stopped for a check on the Altopiano delle Rocche, refused to undergo an alcohol test. Driving license withdrawn.
Around 900 people were identified during the investigations, including a 47-year-old who was reported by the mobile radio in a municipality in Marsica. Tagliacozzo for refusing to provide his personal details to the soldiers, addressing them with offensive phrases.
There were also numerous checks on people under house arrest or subjected to other measures requiring them to stay at home during the evening and night hours.
It is highlighted that people arrested or released in a state of freedom are innocent until the final sentence is pronounced and that the measures adopted by the Judicial Police require the necessary verification and validation by the Judicial Authority, not implying any proven responsibility.
